An increase in early cancer detection rates at a single cancer center: Experiences from Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center

Cancer has become a major fatal disease in China. The relatively lower early detection rates for multiple cancer types have been one of the main reasons curative rate China compared with developed countries. To investigate trends over past 5 years city China, 45,260 patients newly diagnosed cancers nasopharynx, lung, thyroid, colorectum, liver, breast, uteral cervix, stomach, esophagus, blood, and kidney from 2016 to 2020 at Sun Yat-sen University Center were evaluated. (stage I disease) all combination significantly increased 14.4 23.07%. Among studied types, significant increase stage was proportionally seen uterine cervix. While liver proportional increment only observed when combining II diseases. No alteration or observed. Three limitations this present study include small cohorts patients, short observation periods, limited sample representativeness. Further efforts are anticipated validate our findings larger patient different parts enhance by promoting public awareness, applying better health care policies, improving insurance coverage medical resources.
